Appearance: Reno's looks are pretty much the same as his OU counterpart for the most part. He has shorter, spikey henna red hair, though he has no pony tail. On his forehead he wears a pair of worn leather, aviation type goggles. These rarely leave his forehead. His skin is pretty pale since people in Midgar and the Slums rarely saw any form of sunlight due to smog and living under the plate. He had never even been outside of Midgar himself. His face is a round shape and on his cheekbones are two tattooed red lines, that match the color of his hair. They go from wide to a point as they end under the center of his eyes. The color of his eyes is a crystalline blue (Since he never joined the Turks there are of course no traces of Mako.) and he has pearly white teeth. The man has a pretty muscular build, especially in his arms, though not OVERLY muscular. His style is very laid back. Definitely not extremely elaborate. His wardrobe usually consists of plain white wife beaters and black baggy pants or jeans. Nearly all of his pants have rips in them, which is no surprise. Around his neck he wears a small silver chain and a small white pearlish bead hangs from it. The bead is from the flower his old childhood friend had given him, which he had the petals made into, none other than, a bead.

Personality: If you had to chose one word to sum up Reno's personality it would have to be 'carefree'. It could also be 'laid back'. Hes not one who takes things on a very serious level. It could be near the end all life its self and he would still treat it as a joke. He also has the amazing ability to find at least one positive point to a situation to keep himself in a happy perspective. Rarely does he ever show signs of him having a temper, he normally just throws a fit big enough to match that of a five year old. There are times where he seems to have the mentality of a five year old, which is probably where the carefree spirit and positive attitude comes in, but only in his outlook of life. When really happy he does seem to act like a child, but for the most part... he tries to stay at his maturity level. He does have times where he does a completely 360 with people and can go into a very serious mode but it normally doesn't last long, and it normally only happens when he drinks excessively. He seems to hate when things don't go his way. When this happens he normal fights for what he wants... or, like mentioned earlier, throws a major temper fit. To some peoples surprise he does have a cocky attitude, especially in battle. As mentioned earlier he does drink excessively but also smokes, though not very much... normally just under times of stress. He is smart but sometimes goes through with actions before really thinking them out first and hes a bit dense, so it may take him a few attempts to get something. He also isn't one for paying close attention to things, such as he could be walking with someone and they could trip and fall and he would just keep walking without noticing. Though if something is painfully obvious, such as someone crying, he of course notices that. And when something like that happens hes the perfect shrink... or seems to be. He can be quiet at times where he goes into a deep thinking mode, he actually is a thinker. Also no one is a stranger to this man. Nearly the second he meets you he tends to treat you as if hes known you for years on end.

Abilities/Weapons: His weapon is a stun baton he reconstructed from a broken, worn one he found just lying around in a trash can. He tinkered with it enough, and of course replaced some parts, to get it back up and running as if it was never broken. When its not in use he keeps it retracted in a pocket in his pants. Its nearly impossible to kill a person with his weapon but he can still do a bit of damage by temporarily rendering his enemy helpless with the stunning shock the baton emits. Of course even with out the stun feature the weapon is still useful. Nothing is more satisfying than smacking a person over the head with a metal rod... well not really. Something he seems always seems overjoyed to use, probably more than his own weapon, is materia. Hes keen to magic materia especially. The only other ability he has, besides being able to fight well, is that hes good with mechanical and weaponry type things, such as bombs and guns.

Weaknesses: This man has one true weakness. This weakness is alcohol. He loves to drink, he DID spend most his time at a bar after all, but not to cover up pain or anything. Just because, to him, it makes him feel awesome and makes him feel like its easier to connect with some people. This is just his point of view though. Another thing that could be considered a weakness is his attitude. Because of that he sometimes cannot gather the seriousness of a situation.

History: Reno grew up like any 'normal' kid in Midgar at that time. Born and raised in the slums of Midgar. To be more specific he grew up in Sector 7 of the Midgar slums. The same sector that the Seventh Heaven bar is located, which is of course the headquarters of AVALANCHE. His mother, Coelia, was known to go to the Seventh Heaven bar a lot, leaving little Reno all alone. His father was lost in an unknown accident, which his mother would never explain to him, a few years after he was born. There were times he would follow his mother to the bar and just watch for awhile, wondering what went on. He knew his mother didn't drink, she just wasn't the type, so what would she be doing at a bar? At one point he got the courage to actually go up to one of the windows and look in. He saw no one. Not a bartender. Not a single customer. This perplexed the young boy. He saw the woman go in... but nowhere in sight. Around this time he befriended a young blond haired girl named Amy when he was relaxing at the Sector 5 playground. Despite the age difference, Reno was twelve years of age and Amia was only about seven, the pair became almost inseparable. Coelia wasn't fond of the two becoming so close. It wasn't that she didn't like the girl... just the fact that only she knew of the danger she was in by being friends with the boy. During one of their escapades, Amia took some red paint smeared two sloppy red lines under the boys eyes, just to play around with him, and told him he actually looked cool like that, of course Reno disagreed, but he would remember this event later on and use it as a reason to get his two red lined tattoos on his cheekbones. The friendship went on for four years, making Reno sixteen and Amia only eleven. As the those years progressed he found he began to develop a crush on the girl and also, because he was so into the friendship, he forgot about the suspiciousness of his mother. One day, walking around the Slums with Amia, the pair, mainly Reno, were approached by a man in a suit. He began to explain to him about how he would be a good candidate for an organization called 'The Turks'. Reno only listened for a few minutes before he completely blew the man off and walked away, dragging Amia with him. He told his mother of the encounter and she roughly told him to stay away from characters like that at all costs. He of course obeyed. As the two children became closer, and Reno got older, his mother finally had to make a move. She revealed everything to him about AVALANCHE and her activities. Because Reno was the son of an Anti-Shinra rebel this could possibly put his friend in danger. She explained to him that if he wanted her to remain out of harms way... he would have to cut off all communication with her without telling her the reason. Of course he wouldn't do it at first... but after much thought, and mothers persuasion, he gave in. That was a day he'd never forget. He met up with Amia at their normal place, the Sector 5 playground, and it was there that he told her they couldn't see each other anymore. The girl didn't even ask why. She just smiled and gave a nod and also gave something to Reno he would always keep with him. A single white flower, which was of course rare to find in the slums. She had gotten it from a flower garden in a church that a good friend of hers tended to. After that she left him with the final words, "Always remember me kay?" and a single kiss. That single event left Reno vulnerable and broken. From then on he always went with his mother to the Seventh Heaven bar, rarely spent it out playing around. He never really talked to any of the other members for awhile, due to his slight depression, but this left him to explore other things. He became good with mechanics and weaponry and reconstructed a stun baton for himself to use. The other members found it odd he wouldn't use a gun... or a sword. He wanted to use the baton. When he hit the age of 20 the pain of losing his best friend was completely gone and he had morphed back into his old self. Very positive and rather flamboyant with his personality, though still a bit of a smartass and definitely cocky. More years went by as he worked side by side with his mother and comrades on numerous Anti-Shinra missions, nearly getting himself killed on one occasion, before something very interesting happened. Barret, the new leader, decided to hire a mercenary for a bit of extra help now and for a particular mission later on. He went by the name of Cloud Strife. (Just a side note. Hes hired a year before he would have been in the actual version of FF7. Just so theres no confusion). There was something about this man. Something that caught his eye. At first Cloud was cold to everyone. Saying once the big job was over he was gone. He wasn't here to play around. There were times where Cloud would glance at him and Reno would just look away, feeling his face get hot from embarrassment. He had a crush on a man? He denied it for a long time. Then it was that fateful day where Reno approached him. The two started talking and, to Reno's surprise, they hit it off. After warming up with Reno... he started to warm up with the rest of the group slightly. The two became good buddies. But there was something more that both men felt, though it was oblivious to Reno for awhile. Reno definitely knew when it came to himself... because he was getting the same ticklish feeling he got with the girl. Luckily for him he found out Cloud felt the same way, he found this out one day while the two were alone, and the secret relationship started. Outside their secret meetings Cloud would just treat him as he normally would. He wouldn't ignore the boy but wouldn't treat him as anything more than his friend either. This didn't bother Reno one bit. He understood. He was happy with what attention he got from the man. Their secret went on for the next year. No one suspected a thing from the two. Then finally the time comes where Barret arranges a serious mission. They're off to blow up Reactor #1. Reno was excited. This was his first 'big' mission, surprisingly. Or he thought of it as a big mission. Everything is going smoothly. The plant the bomb and they're about to blow up the reactor. As everyone is running out he turns to look a last look at the reactor, but when he looks back... he turns to find he is not where he was... but somewhere he doesn't know. Plucked from the very world hes grown accustomed to... to another.
